Intel CC150: Affordable Gaming CPU

Intel CC150 is a special processor that is little-known to the general public. It was designed exclusively for cloud gaming services such as NVIDIA GeForce Now. Although the processor is based on the Coffee Lake architecture, its specifications make it unique among other Core series models.

Intel CC150: Technical Specifications

  • Architecture: Coffee Lake
  • Cores/Threads: 8/16
  • Base Clock: 3.5 GHz
  • Turbo Boost: Not available
  • Process Technology: 14 nm
  • TDP: 95 W (actual ~50 W)
  • Integrated Graphics: None

CC150: Features

Intel CC150 delivers performance close to the Intel Core i7-9700 but has several important differences. In particular, the processor lacks integrated graphics, making it fully dependent on a discrete GPU.

The absence of Turbo Boost means the processor operates at a fixed frequency of 3.5 GHz without the ability to increase performance under load. This solution is optimized for stable operation in cloud environments, where predictable performance is more important than peak frequencies.

CC150: Performance

Since the Intel CC150 is used in GeForce Now, its performance is optimized for streaming computing. In a regular PC, it can deliver performance comparable to 8th-generation Core i7 processors, making it a good option for gamers if you manage to find it on the market.

However, due to the lack of Turbo Boost and limited clock speed, in multi-threaded tasks the processor falls behind competitors that support higher frequency scaling across 16 threads.

Intel CC150 is quite a rare processor that is difficult to find for sale. It was designed primarily for cloud services rather than regular consumers. If you manage to get it at a good price, it can be a decent option for gaming, but the lack of overclocking and Turbo Boost may be a limitation for more demanding workloads.
